Pointshare registration is required to save points you mark with Loadstone. Your points are not added to the Pointshare database unless you choose the ''Send to Pointshare' 'option. The email address you enter in your Pointshare registration is for User ID purposes only and will not be shared with other Loadstone users or the general public. Please note that email addresses used are case sensitive and cannot be changed. An internet connection is required to complete registration to Pointshare.
Pointshare is the database of points that Loadstone has access to.
A point is a specific location on Earth. A set of longitude and latitude coordinates is a point. Loadstone uses points from Open Street Map and other publicly available mapping sources as well as points contributed by Loadstone users.
We don't have the financial resources for this at the moment. Donations of Android phones and computer hardware would be incentive for us to consider a version of Loadstone for Android.
Turn-by-turn navigation will be available in Loadstone Version 1.4, coming to the App Store in early August 2019.
Auto announce only works when you have checkpoints loaded. If there are no checkpoints loaded, auto announce will not activate.
Whereas a point is any location on Earth, a checkpoint is a location that you mark as significant to you. Checkpoints can be intersections along a route, landmarks, bus stops, etc. that you use to get to get to a desired destination.
